Mister Bush is running behind. He was supposed to give his next speech over an hour ago; it appears he's still in Marine Corps 1 surveying the scene in New Orleans.
I can't help but think there's a little something else going on here too. Karl Rove has probably figure out that the media ops earlier in the day--the Coasties standing at parade rest, the governors and Chertoff and Brownie crowding around with their noses up the boss's fundament, the boss hugging the Negroes--didn't go over so well.
(Ah, I just figured out why they trotted Condi out for a press conference for no other apparent reason. How did I miss that?)
So we'll see how the look and feel of the media campaign changes when Mister Bush gets back on camera.
