Commander, Found this at "Just an Earthbound Misfit" and thought you'd like it. I'm not one to jump on all the bandwagons the Russians run down the street but there seems to be no real axe being ground here. http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/10/20/europe/kabul.php I'm interested in your take on this.
Just recently found your web site and discovered that you wrote a book, went to Amazon.com, found that there were only 3 left, ordered 2. One for myself and one for a friend. Just finished reading it the day before yesterday-stayed up till about 3:30AM, could not put it down-Still laughing about it today. I spent 6 years in the AF and then 6 years in the Army, got out as an E-6 in 1980. While I admit that the only stuff I know about the Navy comes from reading books by former Naval persons, I must say that your book captured the essence of what I discovered while in the Army(my last 2 years were spent in the Patriot Project at Redstone Arsenal Al) All I can say is You nailed it. Hearty congratulations on a very well written satire of the US Navy.

Hey, what good is laughing at someone else's mistakes if you can't repeat them?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link.

ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteI just celebrated my too many-eth birthday and your kind words were the best present I could have received.
Thanks so much for supporting the web site and the book. Glad you liked it.
Best,
Jeff
PS: If you ever have time and paste a few words into a reader review over at Amazon.com, it will help the book a lot.
Thanks again,
J
