Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.Young Mr. Bush announced today that he'll bring about 8,000 troops home by February 2009. That's about seven months after the surge was originally supposed to expire, about 8,000 troops shy of reducing the troop levels to their pre-surge numbers, and about a month after his woebegone tenure as commander in chief expires. Master George also say more forces could withdraw in the first half of 2009, by which point he'll be clearing brush at his ranch and tepee off the trees in front of the George W. Bush Presidential Library.--Voltaire (1694-1778)
Only in the Barbecue Republic would the head of state tell his populace that his war escalation plan has been so successful that he has to extend it into the next head of state's term, and only in the Barbecue Republic would 45 percent or more of the population salute and say "makes sense to me."

When I was younger, my kids, when they got to the age they could drive and have a car, naturally wanted both.
ReplyDeleteTheir father and I made them raise the money, for the car, and pay their own insurance.
Our premise was simple "You don't appreciate what you don't work for, or don't sacrifice for."
That's the mindset of this country.
Most of the 45% have not sacrificed anything for the freedoms provided for under our constitution, and in our laws. During the current wars, they have gone shopping.
So, losing freedoms means nothing. Because most didn't pay or sacrifice anything for them to begin with.
We can start at the top, and work down. Bush never worked for, or sacrificed for this country. He never, in his life had to clean up his own mess. His daddy did all that for him. So, true to form, he will leave this mess for someone else to clean up.
It's beyond my comprehension, also.
I like the "born on third base, thinks he hit a triple" metaphor.
ReplyDeleteThe administration is acting on the assumption McCain will be president and carry out every wish that is their command.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Elder Lady. They not only don't know what they've got 'til it's gone, they don't know what they got while they have it.
Hey Jeff,
ReplyDeletelisten to what these turds are going to do to the GI Bill before they bail in January.
Agree, Russ. This is pretty much Bush sounding like he assumes McCain's a shoe in and will continue Bush's "good" policies.

Nunya,
ReplyDeleteOMG, privatize it? Who's going to run the trust fund, Niel Bush?
J
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteMinor quibble, I believe Chimpy is selling the Crawford ranch since he doesn't need it for folksy photo-ops anymore.
Hey, maybe Goober Palin can sell it on eBay for him! She must know how to use the intertubes!
WK,
ReplyDeleteI wonder which wealthy right wing schmuck is going to pay him ten times what it's worth so he never has to worry about a Jay Oh Bee again.
As he ever worried about his present one.
J
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteRemember what PT Barnum said...
There's like 150 million of them in this country alone!
You mean the ones who voted for bush twice? Yep.
