"Desert Fox" Fallon Folds

Admiral William Fallon announced today that he will step down as head of Central Command on March 31.

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates stated that, "The notion'' that Fallon's leaving "portends any change in Iran policy is ridiculous.''

So stand by for the you-know-what to hit the fan when the policy changes.

    Excuse me Commander.

Senior citizen women, brought up as ladies aren't even supposed to think this way, much less say these things. However, when your family was Navy..... (you are, from time to time exposed.)

I just saw the news on CNN.

All I can say is "oh shit."

I'll just repeat what said a few minutes ago in your previous column:

Oh crap! And Cheney is on his way to Israel. Last time he did that Lebanon went up in flames

Some folks think it was more insubordination, rather than an urgency to bomb:

  8. Welcome aboard Commander, I just put you on my Blogroll at the Ornery Bastard.
I like to get the wisdom of people who have served compared to the compost that is delivered by the propaganda wing of the Republican Party.

    According to the LA Times.

Congress wants BOTH Fallon and Petreus -- up on the hill-- in April. That should be worth a look at C-Span.

A couple of the "fall-in-liners" were replaced,(and in one case, a maverick saved) in a couple of state primaries, -- and some Congressional folks seem to have found some backbone. May be more to follow in the fall.

    Interesting.

  10. Yeah, gang. It's all real interesting.

A military journalist pal mentioned something interesting earlier today.

Do you think Fallon might have the least interest in being somebody's vice presidential candidate/

    Winter Soldier starts today.

Free Speech TV will broadcast two full days of the activities, starting at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.

    3,987 Lost.

You would think somebody would mention it, in the news, from time to time.

    Must post this:

And (he) told the folks in Aghanistan this:

"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."

"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.
