A whole lot of people saw the hypocrisy of the White House NEWSWEEK bash.

JeffJeff Huberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14146644937683409726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12796551.post-1116601446055575032005-05-20T11:04:00.000-04:002005-05-20T11:04:00.000-04:00Good one.To me the big '"aha" was the realization ...Good one.

To me the big '"aha" was the realization that so many rioting Afghanis (or were they Pakistanis? Scott McClellan seems unsure) get their news direct from the pages of Newsweek. Imagine thousands of them waiting at their mailboxes, thumbing through their latest editions and then simultaneously rising up in protest over the Koran atrocities.

If only we could get Americans to be so attentive and responsive to print news, instead of going out and doing whatever Rush Limbaugh beamed into their weak minds during the drive home.

The fact that this story has gotten any traction at all in terms of blaming Newsweek for anything is just further proof that Karl Rove's mission to find out how stupid the American public can be has not yet reached a conclusion.

I think there is something also a little nefarious about all this: they're hoping that if they put Newsweek sufficiently on the defensive, they'll burn their confidential source in the Pentagon, the one who reversed his story. He (or she) personally might deserve that, but it would send a chilling message to anyone else who wanted, out of conscience, to release anonymous information to the media.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12796551.post-1116596851520191752005-05-20T09:47:00.000-04:002005-05-20T09:47:00.000-04:00Funny you should mention Newsweek subscribers.
